Guys, I need some advice, let me start by saying Iam not a certified mechanic in fact I was a maintenance mechanic on machinery most of my life so no negative comments please. My grandson bought a 2001 Dodge Dakota for cheap. It ran ok for a while but now it doesn't want to stay idling. The guy he bought it off of says it may need a fuel pump soon. I hooked it up to a tester and it didn't throw any codes. Next I put a brick on the gas pedal, was running at about 3000 RPMS and I checked the schraeder valve and gas shot out. I did have to jump it as the battery had died. It's at my house so I was wondering if any experts could give me a few pointers on what to check next. I don't want to just throw parts in it without some sound logic.
