Guess which one's misfiring? Nice quick test for confirming which cylinder is misfiring!

As a follow up to the blend door diagnosis, here we can see that the n2 was able to see that with the known good rear blend door on the system was operating as expected where the amperage draw would stop once the door finished moving. As can be seen on the front blend door, the amperage draw would not stop as the door was stuck. Although this doesn’t fix the front blend door it identifies that the servo motor is operational and that the door is stuck. Further diagnosis will determine if the proper resistance is on the circuit or if a physical obstruction needs to be removed.

So this is something a little different but unique. I am using the N2 Neuron hooked up to the battery to identify a component is drawing amperage and thus reducing the surface charge voltage of the battery. I have already diagnosed that the rear heater is operational and am testing the hypothesis that the no heat issue is a blend door servo that is stuck. I am using the N2 to verify this before tearing anything open. This is possible because of the 24 bit resolution allowing us to see the smallest changes in voltage at the battery. #n2 #n2neuron #n2base01

Relative compression with a scope
Quick test doing a relative compression test using the snap_on scope at the data link connector.

Remember when doing this, if your waveform is not inverted then the compression will be the valleys and not the peaks like doing the same test with an amp clamp around the battery cables.

Failed relative compression Diagnostics

In this video I am showing how a washed out cylinder from un-burned fuel, can cause a lower relative compression reading on the lab scope.

Quick amperage measurement showed cylinder number 1 (coil amperage) lower then the other 7 coils.

Just remember Lower RC test results on a cylinder or cylinders doesn't always mean a mechanical issue. (cause and effect)
